Helen Green Design returns to Townhouse, Belgravia, London

In the heart of Belgravia sits a traditional townhouse with interiors, furnishings and finishes originally designed by Helen Green Design a few years ago. Most recently, our team were chosen to return to the property once again to revise the design of the drawing room, library space and the formal entertaining areas within the property.

The 3,970sq ft property is a Grade II listed townhouse, and the brief was to design a home that was glamourous and traditional, but with some interesting ‘twists’. The interior design is truly reflective of the client and their tastes. The historical memorabilia owned by our client sits effortlessly beside the art-deco-inspired furniture and contemporary art. There is a seamless joining of their interests with the common element of glamour and originality.

Jennifer Jarvis, Senior Designer and project lead commented:
“The aim of this project was to create elegant spaces that reflected the characteristics and tastes of our client. Prior to our renovation our client never liked spending time in the drawing room, despite entertaining at home often, as it was quite dark. The bespoke chandelier and picture lights, chosen by our team, elevated the light within the space considerably. The unique cut contemporary rug from Colbourns added to the brightness of the scheme too.”

In the library space and drawing room our team selected figured anaigre veneers with antique brass to the joinery. We created a beautiful design to the back of bespoke swivel chairs, combining an art deco style with a touch of glamour. In the dining room, the 4.3 metre dining table enables plenty of space for their large dinner parties. We loved taking inspiration from 1930s Hollywood, and clients’ own art collection to create sophisticated spaces in Townhouse, Belgravia.
